As consulting engineers, we have two basic sets of laws to adhere to: the building code and the laws of nature. T

he only way to distinguish ourselves in a service oriented industry lies in how we do what we do.

Our Objective

Point One Design, Ltd., is committed to the responsible design of appropriate, energy efficient mechanical and electrical systems based on all technological and practical features of a project. No client or project is too small for our best professional service and every project deserves and receives the participation of a firm principal from beginning to end. Our project teams are formed using specifically qualified personnel and are maintained throughout construction to provide continuity from initial design through commissioning of projects. We are a professional consulting business that emphasizes the service aspect of providing clients with accurate, appropriate, and timely design and consulting services, provided in a friendly manner. The concepts of personal responsibility and firm accountability are fundamental to us as we strive to operate our business with integrity.

Problem Solving

Engineering, after all, is essentially about solving problems using the constants of math and science.  While the technical pieces of engineering are extremely important, providing solutions for real world problems involves more than just a keen sense of the numbers.  Point One Design strives to learn and utilize the most recent technological developments in the construction market without disregarding the time-honored “industry standards”, all the while keeping an eye on the current and future path of the culture.  While working from these perspectives, we are able to offer the most appropriate solutions to each unique project.  Responsible design involves all of the technical and functional characteristics of facility construction and operation including space use, cost, code compliance, energy efficiency, maintenance, and operating cost, as well as owner and architect preferences and program requirements.
